PRINCE2 is a project management method designed to assist control of the start, middle and end of a project. It is a principles based method supported by processes, defined project responsibilities and integrates proven best practice project management approaches to support successful delivery of a project.
PRINCE2 has been designed as a method which can be applied and adapted to all project types and projects of different sizes. This is a key reason why PRINCE2 is so widely used. Our clients come from every government and private sector.
PRINCE2 has gained recognition from all major project management institutes. With thousands of organisations applying PRINCE2 across the globe it is often referred to as a best practice project management training approach.
PRojects IN Controlled Environments version2
Initially developed as PRINCE in 1989 as a project management method for the United Kingdom’s CCTA (Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency), it was later reviewed to become a generic project management approach and it was at this time renamed to PRINCE2. This new version was released in 1996 by the UK government as a project management standard which could be applied and adapted for all government projects. Since its release it has been adopted by thousands of private and public sector organisations worldwide. PRINCE2 was reviewed in 2009 and again in 2017 to include some enhancements making it more user friendly and to provide users more guidance on its application and tailoring.
